About
Joosje Struwer is an Amsterdam-based artist, art teacher and architectural designer, born in 1994. Her multidisciplinary practice is shaped by her background in architecture, interior design and visual arts.
Study history
After graduating at the Academy of Visual Arts Maastricht in 2017, she returned to Amsterdam to study at the Breitner Academy, where she graduated as a first-degree art teacher in 2019.

Her work moves between painting, illustration, design and spatial thinking. She draws inspiration from music, film, nature, people and everyday life, exploring the connections between different materials and disciplines.
Loss is a recurring theme throughout her work. All of her artworks are named after songs she shared with her beloved father, creating a personal connection between memory, music and the work.
